Tether or Circle address banned?

Most people think that cryptocurrencies can’t be blocked or frozen, because of their decentralised nature. Unfortunately stable coins, such as USDT and USDC are centralised and are therefore not immune to freezing. And this is often equal to confiscation. It is indeed very unfortunate, but Tether and Circle are freezing tokens (USDT, USDC) more and more often. This is usually done upon request of law enforcement agencies, including many Bulgarian ones. When an address is frozen it is usually put on a ban list and the rightful owner of the funds is left in the dark. For the average crypto owner, it is virtually impossible to initiate legal process against Tether or to contact the law enforcement authorities in order to prove his point.

Our basic conditions

While we provide full assistance to our valued VD&A Gold Club members, we are in position to offer assistance to non-members as well. This is done in cases, where we believe the frozen funds are legitimate and we have sufficient confidence for the successful outcome of the process.

In these cases, the following basic conditions are applicable:

  • Our standard fee for unfreezing of a stabe-coin crypto address is 2,5% of the blocked amount (minimum 2000 EUR). Different arrangements may be made if the frozen amount is in excess of 10 million US Dollars;
  • We require either full pre-payment of the above fee or payment within 3 working days after the funds are released;
    • In case we accept to be paid after the funds are released, we require bank guarantee to be issued within 15 days in our favour in order to guarantee that our fee will be paid at the end. VD&A Gold Club members are exempt from the requirement to provide a bank guarantee;
  • If the client only requires our lawyers to examine the case and address Tether, Circle or the relevant law enforcement authorities, the standard fee is 3000 EUR. In some cases this may be enough for the funds to be unblocked;
  • Under the current service, we can only assist in recovering frozen USDT and USDC. Please don’t ask us to recover your stolen Bitcoin, as this is not possible by legal means.
